After a temporary dethronement by rap group Migos‘ viral hit ‘Bad & Boujee’ (read more about that by clicking here), Ed Sheeran‘s ‘Shape Of You’ has returned to the top of the Hot 100 this week.
Reigning atop the tally for the second non-consecutive week since its debut four weeks ago, the tune’s resurgence is certainly thanks to some handsome streaming radio airplay. Billboard reports:
“With its official video having premiered Jan. 30, the song gains by 19 percent to 31.7 million U.S. streams in the week ending Feb. 2, according to Nielsen Music, and holds at No. 2 on the Streaming Songs chart. It increases by 11 percent to 115,000 downloads sold…”

How long does it take for a song to chart? This is no shade at all, but I’ve been looking at the Hot 100 daily to check if Mariah’s ‘I Don’t’ is on it. How long would it take to chart?

In terms of promotion, yeah. I like the song itself though. Maybe it’s the kind of song that wouldn’t do well in the charts now. Sounds like a late naughties R&B track
The queen needs to get off her throne and promote. Call radio stations, visit. Sing it on a few tv shows (ellen), The song I Don’t is radio friendly and is a Hot vocal. Lets see where it goes

Million Reasons is coming to the Top 10 of the Hot 100 next week. The jokes about Joanne not having a hit this era are DONE. Even ARTPOP had a top 10. She’s managed to have a hit from all her albums

LOL And without the generic formula Rihanna´s team have been pushing down people´s throats for 10 entire years non stop at a pace of 7 singles per year nothing about Rihanna would have happened.
