Fifth Harmony Star Joins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Published: Friday 24th Feb 2017 by Sam

Fifth Harmony has the Pop world eagle-eyeing their every move following the member re-shuffle that saw them shrink to a four-piece after the departure of Camila Cabello.

And while we’ve been loving their “no off days” approach (see: touring, recording a new album, and maintaining a presence in the spotlight), we’re not quite sure what to make of their latest step.

Find out why below…

PEOPLE confirms that member Normani Kordei has signed up to the 23rd season of ‘Dancing With The Stars.’

The 20-year-old will star alongside Olympian Simone Biles and Mr T.

Given that Kordei will be touring South America with her 5H sisters for the first two weeks of the show, her as yet unannounced dance partner will be jetting to and fro tapings with her.

Our two cents below…

We love us some 5H, but we’re torn.

On the one hand, the exposure is good for the ladies collectively. Especially at a crucial time when folk (beyond die-hard fans) need to know them at a more personal level so as to invest mentally and with their money.

That said, we’d much rather the group put on a united front and come swinging with new music before diversifying off into side-projects. It all feels very premature.

Add to that the fact Normani is a phenomenal dancer already and the whole thing becomes even more…puzzling.

Still, perhaps Team 5H are piecing together a picture that will become more apparent as time goes on. At least we hope so.

She needs to start going to these black events and start networking

Yet I’m the snake…. and everyone wants to kill me for being happy and making the moves I made. ❤️

Im actually happy this is happening. In 3 years she would have a dope solo career.

If they won’t be promoting an album then, I don’t see the big harm.

Image wise it does look bad, but if they are recording their music in LA where the show tapes why can’t she come in for studio sessions still?

This seems like a great marketing tactic. Normani is the least well-known of the group and this is a way to gather her a Caucasian fan base. Especially since they may be pushing her more to the front of the group based on all the photo shoots and events post breakup.

Well they do need to make a living. They have to survive and eat . As popular as they are, they aren’t making Beyonce and Rihanna money. On top of that it’s split four ways. What if they got sued or dropped. Then what? . It’s called building a brand.

This is a brilliant marketing strategy

Their main problem is they don’t even want to be in a group. Look at little mix and look at them. The others ones actually look like a group and act like it.

If it was all about looking and acting like a group, Little Mix would be global stars by now. You need the music to back it up. 5H need a lot of work, but at least they have two global hits to their name

      • RhiRocks February 26, 2017

LITTLE MIX have outsold fh entire existence especially considering they’re a local act

Why isn’t she being bashed for this? If that little Spanish girl was to go on DWTS she would be dragged to hell and back over it ??‍♀️Like wtf!? #Juststatingtheobvious

Mathew Knowles would abandon destiny’s child would NEVER. Have they not studied the blueprint of how to make a comeback after s reshiffle? New Music/Killer Hooks/Melodies/Vocals/Visual/Choreo. These girls are still not a household name and their management are diluting the brand already with these side projects before the group is established. They simply will not last and the public will forget them and remain unbothered.
