‘Rebel’ wailer Lauryn Hill has long proven herself a rebel against promptness, punctuality, and timeliness. Yet, for Pittsburgh fans who opted to ignore the complaints of countless cities before them, they found out firsthand on January 31st when the songstress was so late to her own show in the ‘Steel City’ many assumed she was a “no-show.”
Appearing on stage over 3 hours after her scheduled time, angry Pittsburgh fans took to Twitter to voice their frustration and, in the process, ignited an onslaught of memes and mockery across the social media platform. Apparently some of the negative attention reached the desk of Ms. Hill who, in response, lifted an apology to her official Twitter account recently.

When white performers, like Madonna, have a HABIT of showing up EXTREMELY LATE they get a pass. Why is all of this negative media attention being put on Lauryn Hill? She gets no press for the concerts she shows up to on time.
Good point. Madonna was just as late for like half the shows on her last tour (like she is on all of her tours) and she didn’t get half the negative attention Lauryn did.
Let’s noooot make this a race thing. Lauryn is habitually late to most of her shows, that’s if she even bothers to show up! She butchers her hits to the point of being unrecognizable for about 40 minutes, then exits the stage. I don’t understand why she is always giving excuses. What she needs to do is the following in this order:
1)Grow the f*** up.
2)Take responsibility for your mistake.
3)Learn from your mistake.
4)Apply what you learned.
5)Repeat steps 1-4 if necessary.

If the promoter did send out the tweet about the show starting later than anticipated and there is snow issues, I don’t see the problem with it. At least she tried to make it to the venue and is still offering an extra show.
NEVER go see her. She is ALWAYS late. I tried for 5 shows. so late that two of them got cut off after 45 mins. Plus odd versions of the songs…her breathy odd phrasing (except on love is stronger than pride)….it never ends up being worth it. i always left in a bad mood.

5 shows? Why not consider finding another artist’s concert. This is 2017 before you go to any concert you should check the artist’s concert reviews on the current tour and watch a few current performances on youtube before you spend money on concert tickets.

Lauryn is full of f****** s***. She was 2 1/2 hours late to my show, performed for a half an hour and dipped. She sang weird versions of her songs and didn’t interact with the audience. $90 I’ll never get back.
Call your credit card company and tell them to reverse the charges because you did not get what you paid for.
