Chart Check [Billboard Hot 100]: Bruno Mars Makes History With ‘That’s What I Like’

Published: Friday 3rd Mar 2017 by Rashad

’24k Magic’ maestro Bruno Mars continue to sprinkle his magic on the Hot 100 thanks to the latest single from the set, ‘That’s What I Like.’

The R&B banger, which recently got the visual treatment, got its biggest sales and streaming boost from a high octane performance from this year’s Grammy Awards two weeks ago.  Zooming to #4 as a result, the move – coming as Mars’ 13th run in the chart’s top 5 –  has given him the distinct honor of having the “most top 5 singles this decade among males.”  With ‘That’s What I Like’s ascension, he is tied with pop megastar Rihanna for the overall count (starting 2010).

As we await news on next week’s charts to see the impact the song’s recently released visual had on its sales and streaming – and to see if Rih’s ‘Love on the Brain’ will break their tie – tuck in below to see who joins them in this week’s refreshed “Chart Check:  Billboard Hot 100”:

rihanna is really pissing off the navy with LOTB, like how hard is it to slip a few radio dj’s a check to spin the song a little more, or just take out her phone and shoot herself lip syncing to the song and put it on vevo!

Hope Bruno doesn’t get blocked by Ed. Kinda was dragging him when his album was underperforming at first but TWIL is 800x better than anything on that other troll goblin’s album.
Closer STILL top five, can’t believe Halsey now has one of the biggest hits of all time even if it’s a feature. And Badlands will hit 500K pure sales very soon with no hit (492K as of today). Really excited to see where she’s headed in her next era.

Bruno is truly the top male atm and has been for over 5 years now. He´s not only a singles slayer, but also an album slayer… and especially a TALENT slayer. Most of the people in that top 15 are only the first thing 🙂

I see songs that continue to sell less than others are above those others one week more
