Ashanti is ready to blow you away with her new single, ‘Lose Yourself.’
As we reported here, the Grammy-winning songstress is not only experimenting with new sounds for her 6th album, but is also looking to demonstrate her artistic maturity a recent interview with our friends at VIBE reveals.
Dishing to the Urban mag, Ashanti not only details her reasons for remaining an independent act despite multiple offers from major labels, but also gives dibs on some of the prized Urban producers who are contributing to her next LP – the first since 2014’s ‘Braveheart.’

…we are craving new music from Ashanti. Are you working on a new album that we might get this year?
Ashanti: Oh, absolutely. I am so excited about my new music. I have been working with a couple of people. A lot of stuff in L.A. and my single is called “Lose Yourself.” It’s a very different sound for me, and I love it.It’s urgent, and it was produced by Dre Moon & A1. They’ve done a lot of stuff for Chris Brown and Future. I am just super excited. Me and Ty Dolla $ign have a couple of records, me and Mustard have a couple of records, and I am working with J-Roc. He has done a lot with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. There’s definitely some L.T. Hutton on the album, too. We’ve been working on some joints, and obviously he’s the man behind the All Eyez On Me movie. When I was over in Europe on tour, I played a snippet for the crowd and the reaction was just crazy.

bring it on Ashanti!!! Can always count on her to bring a true R&B album…
This is the first time that I’ve actually wanted to hear new music from Ashanti. It’s weird to say but … I might actually buy it.
I’m rooting for you Shani!
She’s so beautiful!!!!! I’ll download the album
She have some R&B classics under her belt, I could never get into her albums as a whole, but her singles were great. The game is more grounded now, so I’m looking forward to her new music.
I can’t wait!! I’ve always enjoyed all of her album’s. Her last 3 were seriously slept on.
Speaking if her. At the gym and was about to find a new song to play then the beat drops and then I. Hear someone say “I don’t remember feeling like this” and it was baby by Ashanti from her first album. That’s song is still a great song and a banger. Hope the best for her BC this industry to too focuses on having a few, especially black women doing big things. I need her, Keri, Mary, a keys, ameriie (why she add the extra I? Messes up my artist playlists) letoya and anyone else to do well and be successful. Enough room for them all to show up and show out
I love her and ready to hear new music.
She should get a Beyoncé feature
She ain’t stupid! Ashanti would never knowing good and well Beyonce would outsing and outshine her on her very own song.Lol. Ashanti don’t need that she needs all the help she can get resuscitating that dead music career of hers.

Baby she does everyone else songs better than then her own…?
Her albums have a ton minimum good singles and many times even better classic songs as album cuts that R&B fans would love! Dot. Sleep on least giving her albums a stream people. All of them guaranteed you will enjoy more than one song on each!
I will 4 sure buy an Ashanti album, especially if it drops this year!!
Yesssssss! Come thru Ashanti! Can’t WAIT! ?
She needa hang up her mic once and for all. Ashanti should focus on just being the Instagram thottie. Lol. She does that very well. Five albums in and her music career crickets. Irrelevant.
Is she gonna have a video for this song
