Drake has given more life to a record birthed when hits from his March 2017 release, ‘More Life,’ made him the most charted artist in the history of the Hot 100.
Edging out longtime mentor and labelmate Lil’ Wayne for the honor when all 22 songs from ‘Life’ landed on the chart simultaneously then, now Drizzy has added two new tunes – ‘Signs’ & Metro Boomin‘s ‘No Complaints’ – to this week’s refreshed Hot 100 and the stack of his own chart hits.
The result?
He’s extended the distance between himself and Wayne in history books.
‘[‘Signs’] enters the Hot 100 as the chart’s Hot Shot Debut (for the week’s top arrival) at No. 36…
Drake additionally debuts at No. 71 on the Hot 100 as featured on Metro Boomin‘s “No Complaints,” also featuring Offset (of Migos)…
With the bows, Drake extends his lead for the most Hot 100 appearances among soloists (including lead and featured billings), dating to the chart’s Aug. 4, 1958, inception. Here’s an updated count of the artists with the most Hot 100 entries:
207, Glee Cast
157, Drake
136, Lil Wayne
108, Elvis Presley (whose career predates the Hot 100’s origin)
91, James Brown’
The news is accompanied by reports Drake has also extended another achievement: the record for the longest consecutive run on the Hot 100. As we reported here, the last 8 years have not gone one week without printing his name in at least one position.
Thanks to ‘Signs’ and ‘Complaints,’ that trend continues as they help him notch his 426th weeks. Check below to see who joins him in the Hot 100 this week on TGJ’s latest ‘Chart Check’:

It is very easy when rules work in your favor to have your work become successful and to break records. James brown and Elvis were artist at a time when singles were released to radio and were sold at stores to get a song on a chart. Simply having a popular album will get your whole project charted now. Do they at billboard not feel weird having a whole album chart at ince ? And then singles songs streams help chart a song AND the a company album too?! Just designed for artists to do little and break records. Congrats on working the system in your favor I guess
Actually no it isn’t very easy. How do you explain all of the flops from HUGE name artist then? Drake is one of the few artist who excelled post and pre streaming. He has proven himself a selling force, no matter how much the music consumption changes. But I get it, he makes it looks so easy. The sameness way Rihanna makes having #1 singles so easy, when other A listers can’t get one to save their live.
@meme
thank you! you said a mouthful. people love to act like streaming makes it easier for people to chart while concurrently neglecting that people are flopping left and right in these streets
Exactly. Thats why these so called “records” these modern day artists are “setting” mean nothing. Billboard has dumbed down and changed their rules so much so that these artists don’t have to put in the work for a hit like the legends. James Brown & Elvis Presley didn’t need features or streaming to chart their hits. And don’t get me started on this whole album tracks now eligible to chart as well bullsh*t. People can make excuses for that nonsense all they want, bottom line, these new artists are working the system because they can’t succeed on their own merits, and its easy because the system makes it easy for them by changing the rules every 5 minutes.
when will this whole drake reign be over? the last 10 years have been such an insult to real hip hop
y’all can go somewhere with the Drake hate. Drizzy is what’s hot these days. it’s completely deserved. nobody is rapping on his level these days
