Hailing from Texas, the 19-year-old performer makes waves via RCA worldwide with his debut album ‘American Teen’ and his cut ‘Location’ which recently bagged a Platinum certification in the U.S.

Now, with hopes of doing more of the same, the performer (who spent six years in Germany before making the big time) made his way to the Zach Sang show to offer potential fans insight into his life.

‘Teen’ dropped on March 3rd and has been pushed to Gold status via streams.

How its faring on pure sales tip? Modest. The set sailed into first week on the Billboard 200 with 37,000 units moved.

Fortunately, much like SZA, Khalid is already showing signs of healthy growth and may follow in The Weeknd‘s footsteps should his follow-up sets come armed with hits built to push him to household name status.
