According to reports, the Hip-Hop star has signed with Columbia Records following a bidding war with several other label giants.
Home to titans such as Beyonce and Adele, the Sony Music imprint will release ‘7 Winters & 6 Summers’ – Remy’s first solo album since being released from prison in 2015.
The news comes on the heels of a colossal year for the femcee; she earned a Grammy nomination and a Platinum plaque for Fat Joe collaboration ‘All The Way Up,’ won the BET Award for Best Female Rapper, and set the internet ablaze with Nicki Minaj diss track ‘Shether.’
Armed with this momentum, it appears the only way is up for Remy. All the way up!

Over a year later and she’s still going hard with songs like Company and Melanin magic, which is by far harder than anything I’ve ever heard from Nicki. Don’t be mad cause Nicki’s reign is over. Only those who are not true hip hop fans would choose Nicki over Remy. Remy is a beast and anybody who knows anything about real hip hop would know the difference between the 2.
And will be dropped after the release of her first album, if it’s ever releases. Because aren’t has no real fans. 50% of the fans who were fueling her was Nicki haters, 25% of them don’t know any other songs by her except All the way up and conceited, and he other 25% of people who support her are non music buyers. They will download her ish for free.
You sound bitter. Every artist has to start somewhere and although Remy is far from a rookie she’s never had a platform as big as Columbia. How can you be so sure that her talent can’t/won’t win over new fans?
Because we all already know how the music industry is set up. It is next to impossible for a artist to go from flop to success. All of the successful artist or artist who have had some success started off with a successful debut. There is a formula in the industry. Name me one artist you know who flopped and resurrected?

Solange is a perfect fit since she’s in Columbia too. 12 years ago people were writing off Pink as ‘her minutes are up’ and now she’s the lead female artist this year in sales. K Michelle had to wait nearly a decade for her big break through reality TV which it seems is what Remy is trying to do too. Nowadays as tough as it is for an artist to actually sell units there are several different ways to put your art out there and win. Remy was out in mainstream at a time when radio would not give female rap the time of the day and now after Nicki and Bodak Yellow things are looking very different. We’ll see.

This is soooo exciting. I’m glad The Queen finally found a major situation that made sense for her . Remy’s winning this time around. She’s always been superior at rapping. Now she has the major label machine to back her talent and not to mention she’s looking fantastic! She’s one of the few artist left that does it for the right reasons … the love of the sport. Not to mention she just shot the music video with Lil Kim … this is a good time for fans of female rap music and we should all celebrate accordingly.
