Taylor Swift Tour Tanks? Star’s Team Weighs In

Published: Monday 18th Dec 2017 by David

Taylor Swift‘s influence and impact on Pop culture often makes her the envy of many a chart-hopeful (male and female).

Unfortunately, those hoping to see the superstar knocked off her pedestal may be pleased to learn that she may have a very serious problem this week.

With what?

Ticket sales.

Full story below…

The blue dots on the image above indicate unsold seats from one of the dates on her ‘Reputation’ tour. A cause for concern? Not for her team.

Why?

David Marcus, the head of Ticketmaster shares…

We’d like to sell the last ticket to her concert when she takes the stage each night. We’re not trying to sell all of her tickets in one minute; we’re trying to figure out how to sell tickets in a more modern way.

Put simply, there’s still time for her to sell out before the tour kicks off on May 8th 2018.

However, we have to ask…

Why do you think Taylor isn’t selling as swiftly as she used to?

She’s not going to fill everybody stadium but it’s still going to sell well.

They always come with excuses when they start to flop. Taylor is another blonde white girl in pop music now, her “edge” was that she was a country artist and young. Now she’s about to reach the age that most white pop stars start to fall off at, 30. We seen it with Britney, Gaga and Katy. When pop music make it’s way around back in style in the next 15 years, there will be a newer, younger and prettier blonde pop STAR and the cycle will continue. Madonna is the only one that could last decade after decade.

All true, but even Madonna went through a 10 yr dry spell where she wasn’t poppin either. It happens to all of them.

      • madbrax December 18, 2017

yeah but madonna didn’t go on the road for those 10 years so can’t really call that a dry spell. Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, Evita and winning the golden globe is HARDLY a dry spell.

The instant sell out she and others have had were to resellers using bots to buy tickets. The stadium would be sold out, in a minute or two, then the fans had to go to Stubhub or some other reseller, and purchase the ticket at a 30% to 200% increase in price. Now Ticket Master is holding back tickets and pricing them closer to reseller prices. Removes money from the resellers (who did nothing but write a bot to purchase vast numbers of tickets fast) and puts in the entertainers pocket.

Sooooooooo the tour doesn’t start for another 5 months and we’re writing articles about one stop having open seats still available? Clearly a slow news day….

    • Jeans December 18, 2017

Exactly this is not news. Beyonce don’t even sell out all her tickets right away and sells quite a few on show night. TGJ please sit!!

      • Me Again… December 18, 2017

Exactly. I’m not a Taylor fan, but the reach is real. So sad to see a blog want to see someone fail so bad if it’s not their fave.

      • Justme December 18, 2017

That’s a lie. If you went to Beyonce last tour which was the Formation stadium tour it sold out within minutes. There was no tickets available. Only resell tickets and they were expensive. Taylor should have already sold out. Guess they weren’t ready for it lol

      • SMH December 18, 2017

Lol, no that’s a lie. Beyonce’s tour did not sell out in minutes. There were several dates that took a minute to sell, some didn’t sell out until the day before the show. You beyonce fans need to realize she’s not God, she takes knocks just like every other star.

      • madbrax December 18, 2017

haha ok Just, there were plenty of seats left on multiple dates.

  4. mr.m December 18, 2017

trust me, this is going ti be her last big era
people will finally realize how basic this bish is
so hyped and I can’t even deal with it..
AND her album is SO DAMN WACK!!!
I prefer her as a country artist

    • madbrax December 18, 2017

yet she’s still doing better than your black artists.

They need to understand that not every artist is capable of selling a stadium, especially a solo act. Their teams need to stop being so ambitious and greedy.

When Beyoncé announced the Formation World Tour I thought that was a risk, not everyone has the status for that, Madonna is one of the few that can sell out a stadium.

  6. Datredd23 December 18, 2017

To bad she can’t use the Superboel hype to sell out those stadiums like others did

    • Datredd23 December 18, 2017

      *Super Bowl

    • We are the grandchildren of the slaves you couldn’t kill – tyler December 18, 2017

Everybody seems to be able to sell out a tour except for Rihanna

      • Datredd23 December 18, 2017

Rihanna has sold out many stadiums! DWT and AWT included! she is in the top 10 touring grossing female artists ever she’s fine hun! But why do you hate her so much ? Like really it’s unhealthy

  7. Truth is Truth December 18, 2017

She will eventually sell out, when they drop those prices. Nosebleed seats for $179, she’s out her mind. I wonder why no publication has spoken about her conning her fans with that ticketmaster scam. Prices are being hired every other day. Idiots that bought 10 copies of her albums, weren’t able to buy tickets that they wanted with the pre-sale. They were even deleting twitter comments of her stans complaining.

  8. XYZ December 18, 2017

Because she is not a good live act? Enjoyed reputation for a couple of days, but there is no way I would pay to see her live

  9. ELHarbeson December 18, 2017

They are doing what the ticket seller call “slow sale” They release x number of tickets and wait and see what whey are reselling for and release the next batch at closer to the resale value. They plan to do this for all big entertainers in the future. puts more money in the entertainer’s pocket, and less in Stubhub’s pocket. I read yesterday that there are front row tickets for her Los Angeles stop at the Rose Bowl on sale for $14,000.
