Atlantic Records has had a very good year.
How so?
Details on the label’s enviable winning streak (bolstered by newcomer Cardi B) below…
The company, which was once home to icons Lil Kim and Missy Elliott, made major moves this year when it signed Cardi and assumed full control of her bourgeoning career.
Today, the booming business has learned that their decision has paid off…big time.
With Cardi’s help, it outperformed its rivals Def Jam, Disney and Epic and injected enough cash into its parent label Warner to make it the third strongest label in the market this year.
Quite interestingly, the label also ran rings around Cash Money (housed by Universal) despite the fact that that company is home to the year’s highest-selling female rapper Nicki Minaj.
Pure sales picked up the rapper’s material flew north of the 2 million point globally but did little to help Cash Money as the business is crushed under the weight of Lil Wayne‘s feud with CEO Birdman.
Minaj has sold over 20 million singles and albums worldwide.
2 million she sold was little to help Cash Money¿ ..whatever
I support real talent & I’m done there!! ✌??
Lol what does her 20 singles have to do with Cardi? Isn’t this who the whole article is about in the headline? This site is pathetic.
how is it pathetic, when you and other seems to fined away to drag each of them in to each others article, but your hypocrite @ss wants to call out sam for doing the same sh!t yall do. pff miss me with that nonsense.
Umm please dont combine single sale and album sale thats just dumb! 20 million hahahaha bye!!!! who cares about the minji girl anymore she boring with same flows and lyrics
But sis Cardi can’t rap ??♂️ Minaj’s bars can’t be too boring cuz Cardi stay borrowing hers and everyone else’s.
word.
Same as Cardi in fact cardi’s flow is more redundant she’s lucky she’s got spunk and personality,I like cardi but Minaj shits on her in flows /delivery /bar
They ought to score this on a point-based system in which selling an album carries a lot more weight than buying a 1 dollar single. Say maybe 12 singles sold equals 1 album record or something like that.
