Watch: Tinashe Drops Details on ‘Joyride’ Delay

Published: Monday 22nd Jan 2018 by Rashad

‘No Drama’ singer Tinashe is quashing longstanding rumors that behind the scenes label drama was to blame for the serial delay of her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Joyride.’

The project, initially launched on the back of the Chris Brown-assisted tune ‘Player’ (released in fall 2015), has been teased so long due to nonperforming kickoff singles many – including diehard fans – were under the impression it’d been shelved.

Yet, while last week’s release of new single ‘No Drama’ (featuring Migos star Offset) helped quell those murmurs, for now at least, the stageblazer is speaking out with word the album is “finished” and finally ready for launch.  Taking to Beats 1 Radio, tuck in to hear Tinashe dish on the delay:

It’s always been done but the album was going into a far direction away from her first album which we the FANS didn’t like and now are glad she is back doing her Alt-R&B/Hip Hop style again. She can always do Pop music but not in a Sophomore effort. It wouldn’t make sense.

She’s done. She waited entirely too damn long and now people don’t even care or know that she’s on her second album. And just say that the label didn’t care for your music, we know how RCA is. With all the singles and buzz tracks and leaked tracks, we have “Joyride” already so put out your third album and either call it a day or shut the hell up.

::sips truth tea:: That time Ciara kept pushing back her last album “One Woman Army” to explore her creative juices only to deliver the most basic songs ever? This wreaks of that. Just drop the music already.

Tinashe is a cute girl. She has released one or two bops in the past. It’s just unfortunate that her time has come & gone. No one cares any longer. Her music isn’t going to sell. There’s no appeal or major public interest. She needs to build a major draw to her likeness & brand by either getting involved in a PR created relationship, scandal or news headline. She needs to buddy up with an already established IT GIRL or do a reality series of some sort to drum up interest in WHO SHE IS as a person, first. That interest will then sell her music. Right now, the masses simply do not care.

Vocally she’s on the level of Mya. . And I think Mya had a bigger career than her,,,tinashe can dance like Mya, ,,,sings like cassie who is A non Talent flop,,,and her coming after black people not buying her records was her downfall all the other black artists are selling

As an artist I can understand what she says, I’m not famous as her (and don’t want to be) but the same thing happened with my last album which is still not released. Sometimes you need to go further until you find something special, deeper because it’s your own work that you’re putting out, it’s your name, your future past if you see what I mean. She said she’s confident, I say okay, I just can’t wait for her to drop it because i’m pretty sure this will be very good.
