Jessie J Wins Chinese Show ‘Singer’ / Wows With Epic Performance Of Whitney’s ‘I Will Always Love You’

Jessie J has done it.

After topping the tally week in and week out, the vocal wonder powered her way to winner status on Chinese TV smash ‘Singer’ tonight.

The British bred belter bested the competition on the penultimate episode of this season, taking home the coveted trophy (pic above). She won by quite the landslide, securing 47.49% of the vote in the 4-way battle.

Enroute to her win, she delivered a mind-blowing rendition of Whitney Houston‘s ‘I Will Always Love You’ (which may be our favorite version beyond Nippy’s).

Check it out below, where more from Jessie’s big night awaits…

Beforehand, she took on her own hit ‘Bang Bang’ with Coco Lee and KZ Tandingan:

Here’s her winning moment:

Major congrats to Jessie!

Often in the Western world, it’s easy to forget that there’s a huge audience across the pond who comprise a sizeable chunk of the overall record buying population.

With this win, Jessie could well open up new lanes of success for herself.

Sure, we’re hoping said success will include an embrace of her music on home soil. But she may as well build on new bases at the same time.

Jessie J can sang….was this ever a question? I mean really?
Of course she would win…..Whitney in her prime on that show would win easily as well.

Jessie is talented but girl where is your ORIGINAL songs for your catalog. She’s becoming a tribute act more and each time I hear from her now. Give us some new gems of this generation.

HI – this was the format for the Sknger show. She has new singles – real deal, think about that, not my ex and Queen which are on her. EE album ROSE due out. She has started fresh under new management liberating herself from stifling control that made her not true to herself and what she wanted creatively . So this new stuff she is proud of – she wrote with a producer called DJ Camper and they are at their best when acoustic and jamming. She’s so soulful and obviously her personal love is r&b

This girl deserves it. Well done ?? So many silly h*o*e*s poppin’ up takin’ smack, gossiping, trading jabs, hatin’ and bitchin’ AND HERE IS JESSIE J TAKING IT BACK TO WHAT THE INDUSTRY WAS INVENTED FOR AND SLAYING EFFORTLESSLY WHILE DOING IT. ? These children should take notes on how to open they mouth and move people.

It remains to be seen how she can capitalise on this exposure here in the UK (if it was broadcast here that would have been a good look) but what it has done is keep me interested in her brand – I’ll be checking for her. ??✅

To me this only proved once again we still have not known a singer of Whitney or Celine´s caliber on mainstream. Jessie sounded just generic singing My heart will Go on for example. There´s a reason why we still have not witnessed success like theirs (except for Adele, only exception).
She shines more singing her crazy (and normally generic) stuff with all teh runs and all that.
