Ella Mai Announces ‘Boo’d Up: The Tour’

Published: Wednesday 13th Jun 2018 by Sam

‘Boo’d Up’ has blasted newcomer Ella Mai in the minds of the masses – on a global scale.

The Brit, who is the protégé of DJ Mustard, has seen the song not only serve as her breakout smash, but one of the year’s biggest hits.

A true testament to the notion of “slow and steady wins the race,” the cut featured on her 2017 EP ‘Ready’ and is now blowing organically more than a year later.

Currently #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, the track sits at #1 on the Hot R&B Songs tally (where it’s reigned for four weeks) and is also atop of Urban radio count.

Seizing on the momentum, the 23-year-old has mapped out a US tour which starts this August.

Head below to find out where and the when the rising star will be shining live this summer…

Before hitting the road, Mai (who is of Jamaican-Irish descent) will give her first televised performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Friday. She’ll also be performing at the 2018 BET Awards main-stage on June 24th and the Essence Music Festival in July.

How can you go on tour performing just one song? Because that’s all people listen to from her ijs.

Not true. This song is exposing her to the masses and she has a solid EP available. I’ve stumbled across her other music and love 10000 hours by her. Hopefully she pushes another song with this momentum and really kills her performances

Lol clears throat….root word. Stumbled. People don’t seek this girl out yet to be “touring”? Lol

I thought the same thing, but then I thought how many times have we seen an artist have a hot single and then wait until their buzz dies down before they tour, release a video, or move forward with pushing themselves to the masses. I say it’s smart.

I love her music. I am glad TGJ is writing articles on her. I think she should add Los Angeles, CA to her schedule. Lots of artists tour with only one hit song.

Yes for female R&b, when is the last time a female r&b artist other than Rihanna or Beyonce were getting hits like this?

      That’s true

There’s a difference between a “hit maker” and a “hits maker” someone who is a hit maker should more focused on the latter than touring. But what do I know I’m just a consumer. I’m sure she’s in good hands with whoever is managing her. I mean profiting off her tour.
