Omnipresent smash ‘Boo’d Up’ has officially launched the London-born Ella Mai into mass consciousness.
The infectious single, plucked from her 2017 EP ‘Ready,’ has garnered acclaim from fans and critics alike and has accomplished the difficult task of evicting Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ from the No.1 spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop tally – a big feat for a fairly new artist.
Now Mai has reached another milestone – because she can now add “Platinum recording artist” to her resume.

The RIAA has awarded her infectious single a Platinum plaque recognizing 1 million equivalent song unit in the US.
A deserving award for the DJ Mustard produced offering – which has spent 11 weeks on the charts and has managed to spurn remixes from Hip-Hop acts like Plies and Dave East.
To further add to her accolades, Ms. Mai will the 2018 BET Awards this Sunday and also has a sold-out tour which kicks-off in August.

This whole time I thought she was making the sound of a heartbeat in this song, not saying “boo’d up”. This makes that song a lot less annoying now that I know what she’s saying.
This song is very infectious. I remember this song just randomly playing on youtube and immediately started feeling it. I wasn’t sure how well it would do. I’m glad it’s doing well.
I like her song….
