Exclusive: En Vogue Perform ‘Don’t Let Go’ & ‘Rocket’ On ‘The Splash’

Published: Thursday 14th Jun 2018 by Sam

Few acts can rival the enduring excellence of En Vogue.

With 28-years of success under their belt, the seasoned songbirds have emerged as one of the most successful girl groups of all-time. Their many wins include 20 million records sold, VMAs and multiple Billboard Music Awards.

And there’s no stopping the ensemble – now comprised of Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, and Rhona Bennett.

This Spring they released their critically acclaimed album ‘Electric Cafe,’which featured contributions from the likes of Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, and Dem Jointz.

In celebration of the project and their catalogue of classics, the trio performed EXCLUSIVELY on That Grape Juice‘s live show ‘The Splash.’

Watch as the ladies take vocal flight with ‘Don’t Let Go’ and ‘Rocket.’

Who else remembers Rhona Bennett from Homeboys in Outer Space with Flex and Darryl Bell? She was the “girl” in the computer.

I always wondered how En Vogue would work as a trio. Now, I know. Their backing tracks have backup vocals. They still sound good, though.

I truly wish them all the best but personally, without Maxine, THIS will never be En Vogue or at least MY En Vogue.

    This is a mess y’all…

    • Frost Bite June 15, 2018

You’re a mess. A bitter miss. You wouldn’t know talent if it walked up to you and slapped you across your ugly face.

    • Zeda June 15, 2018

dawn and maxine are a mess. if you truly thought this was a mess (and we know you didn’t because this clearly wasn’t “a mess”) then your skin would be crawling if those other two performed this song with them. maxine now sounds like she swallowed a spike ball that f***ed up her voice and dawn has ALWAYS been the one to f**k up the harmonies with her un-professionalism.

I absolutely adore the song Rocket. And they sounded just like the record singing live.

  8. MusicLovah June 14, 2018

This was a solid showing. There were a few hiccups on the first song..but I love them to pieces and back together again.

You’re awesome for this, That Grape Juice!

They look and sound great. Kudos to them for keeping their voices and looks tight all these years. There’s still no girl-group that comes close to En Vogue. The new album is nice too!

Much respect to you ladies, but two very distinct voices are missing. The dynamic group sound that I heard on tape/CD and live in concert is missing. I wish they had all listened to each other a little more with the utmost love and respect.

“With 28-years of success under their belt” Chile they havent been successful since EV3.
No Maxine No En Vogue simple as that.
You can clearly hear how they lost their soulful and distinct sound as of the Soul Flower album

This is my first time hearing Rocket. Can’t believe I slept on En Vogue like that. Loved Masterpiece Theater and I just purchased Electric Cafe. Go head En Vogue.
