Mariah Carey may have almost 30 years of success under her belt, but she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
Currently wrapping up the first set of shows of her ‘Butterfly Returns’ residency in Las Vegas, Mimi is looking ahead to new music. Specifically, her long-awaited comeback album.
Beyond its existence, little is known about the set apart from the fact that she’s been in the lab with Poo Bear (Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’) and Jermaine Dupri.
Over the last few days, not only has Carey re-teamed with the latter, she’s also provided an update on the project.

Taking to social media, she shared the snap above of herself with JD in the lab.
Together, the pair have an illustrious catalogue of classics together, including ‘Fantasy,’ ‘We Belong Together,’ and ‘Don’t Forget About Us.’
Last night, she also revealed on stage that she’s set to wrap up recording for the follow-up to ‘Me. I Am…Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse’ next month.
We’re all sorts of excited to hear what Mimi has been cooking up.
She’s in great voice, as evidenced by her new show, looks sensational, and has surrounded herself with a team that seems to have her musical legacy at the core of its focus.
Could that 19th #1 be incoming?

She is one of the few artists that has never put out a bad album. All of her albums are good. Yes her albums can be long but they certainly have artistry in them. My only complaint is her lip synching live. If she is going to continue doing that then she should learn some dance routines and dance a little. I want to see her new Vegas show but she was outed for lip synching the a how so I’m not going. I agree with all of your artists you want to duet with that it would sound nice. I also think she should release that song and video she made with Busta even if it is not going to be on the album as a giveaway to her fans.
