Five years have separated Kelly Rowland fans from a new LP from the Urban Pop diva, a truth that certainly isn’t lost on her. After months of promising fans she was hard at work on the follow-up to 2013’s critically acclaimed, ‘Talk A Good Game,’ Rowland’s finally lifting the lid on the delay of its long-awaited successor.
Busy, of course, with motherhood, ‘The Voice Australia,’ endorsements, and more, the 37-year-old took to ‘Vogue Australia’ recently to specifically address what’s kept her out of the studio but also reassure her faithful #RowlandStones that new music will be rolling their way very soon.

“…Rowland is now working on a new record. For the first year her hiatus was all about allowing herself to be a mum. By the second year, she says, “I was thinking about pulling back from recording but I couldn’t help myself: I still wanted to record. I still felt like I was missing something. The third year just came and left so fast. The fourth year I said: ‘I have to get to work’ and now I’m ready to release some music!” She laughs, adding: “I felt like I wasted so much time, and it was my husband who actually called me out on it. He said: ‘Babe, as great as those records were, I think you were nervous, you got gun-shy’, and when he said that it was like boom, a gong went off.”
Rowland on how motherhood’s impacted her sensuality:
“I was like coming into that, people trying to say that women can’t be fly after having a baby,” she says. “But J. Lo defied that and said it’s not the case, Bey did it … all these women do it and I was like: ‘Fuck it, I’m going to do that too.’ And that’s when I started to pick up the pace a little bit. Then I got into the studio and started to find the groove and now the groove is there, it’s rolling.”
Dishing on the new album:
“This new record will be extremely personal. “If I feel it or think it and it touches me in some way, then I think it’s going to do that to somebody else, too.” There are six tracks that she’s in love with, but she wants five more. “The record about my mother I have yet to put into words, and it will be the hardest record I will ever write …”
But it will be part of this album, because it will be all about life, about everything she has ever experienced. “It’s about love, loss and gain and whether it’s professional or with family or whatever, it’s just honest. I had no choice but to be honest and authentic with this record: it’s about friendship and marriage.”

You have to realize life happens to them just like it does to us as well. I’m a huge fan of them both and I’ve been waiting and waiting just like others who are fans but I know there’s reasons for things changing. I can’t be mad at them. All I can do is just continue to wait. Lol ?
I think the issue with them both are deals. Brandy was stuck in one and is now touring I guess to release independently and Kelly often changes companies
Kelly went to the school of Matthew Knowles and Beyonce. No excuses. She is guilty of not learning from Bey and Matthew that if you want to be successful you have to keep making music and touring all the time.b you would never hear Bey referred to as making a comeback because she is always here. Kelly have release a new album in 2015. Now she is making a comeback which will be hard at her age.
