Not even 24 hours after releasing her long-awaited new single ‘Made For Now,’ the first lift from her yet-titled follow-up album to 2015’s ‘Unbreakable,’ pop icon Janet Jackson’s returned to familiar territory on the charts: the top spot.
Having just unveiled its Dave Meyers-directed music video at 12a EST, the song’s skipped over the day’s top hits (i.e. Cardi B’s ‘I Like It,’ Drake’s ‘In My Feelings,’ and more) to capture the iTunes Pop charts perch.

As a super Janet fan I’m happy for her and to see that she’s doing some traditional promo so that I can actually see her!!!! While the song itself isn’t what I love most from Janet (bangers, baby making anthems) I’m hoping that the album has this uptempo feel. Love this QUEEN!!!!

I always say Madonna is clearly the queen of pop and the most successful one, but this new single by Janet is definitely more on point and with the times and fresh than anything Madonna has tried to pass as a single in the last 8 years.
