Kanye West is keeping the new-music a’coming.
For, just months after releasing a slew of projects, the rapper is readying another – ‘Yandhi.’
Details below…
When it was announced that the Hip-Hop force would be performing on the season premiere of SNL, many wondered what exactly he’d be promoting.
After all, he seems to have all but abandoned the push for his most recent solo effort ‘Ye’ (which hit stores back in June).
Then there was the context-less debut of Lil Pump collaboration ‘I Love It,’ which has been gathering all the momentum of a possible, probable hit.
Now, it seems that song may be attached to West’s next project; one he confirms will be arriving on September 29th (the same night at SNL).
We’re conflicted.
On the one hand, when considering the mess of recent roll-outs, his current cultural standing, and the project’s name (which deliberately courts controversy by drawing on Gandhi, much like ‘Yeezus’ did Jesus), and this all feels… ugh.
But then there’s the constant hope that Ye will at some point re-engage with the magic that made him such a force at a point in time. That flame of hope makes it near impossible to not have a touch of excitement.
Time will tell if he delivers.
