Ariana Grande has spent recent years juggling the sweet with the sour.
Indeed, while her career has enjoyed high-highs (such as current album ‘Sweetener’), her personal life has been littered with several dark and difficult moments.
The world watched on in horror following the fatal bombing at the Manchester date of her ‘Dangerous Woman Tour’ last year; while 2018 brought with it the end of her relationship with rapper Mac Miller and an avalanche of backlash when she swiftly moved on and became engaged to comedian Pete Davidson.
The start of this month delivered another devastating blow when Miller was found dead after an alleged drug overdose.
Understandably, all of this is said to have Grande keen to take a step back from the spotlight.

Initial seating plans for last night’s Emmys had the singer sat next to her fiancé Davidson. However, both skipped the event and reportedly stayed in New York, where the SNL star is said to be comforting the ‘God Is A Woman’ wailer.
In a statement to PEOPLE explaining Ari’s absence and immediate plans moving forward, her rep said:
“Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys. Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York.
Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend,” her team adds. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

No word on if or how this affects the songbird’s ‘Sweetener Tour,’ but ultimately her well-being should take preeminence.
