After releasing long-awaited album debut Girl Disrupted” last year, Sevyn Streeter struts back into the spotlight with brand new single ‘Yernin.’
The fiery track fuses Trap elements with the singer’s trademark R&B sound, with interesting results.

Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Granted we prefer Sevyn on a pure R&B terrain, the Urban climate of today has shifted in a more Hip-Hop flavored direction.

wow soo good 7!
Seven Streeter is the business vocally!! ?
It took about 3 listens for me to really get into it. I definitely prefer Sevyn on the more R&B records, but it’s got a nice vibe. Sevyn is independent right now, since parting ways with Atlantic Records, so this particular song choice makes sense. The sound is current and Sevyn does have a name and a brand. The song’s reception appears to be good as of now, so we shall see what happens. Good luck to Sevyn.
Eh I like sevyn more R&B side
I prefer her R&B offerings more, but this sounds like a hit!
The song would be better if someone else sang it. Sevyn isn’t even riding the beat. She sounds sloppy and the verses sound unmastered. It actually sounds like a K. Michelle song. Another flop for her…
I miss Sevyn when she actually sang and had really good universal lyrics. This song reminds me of Shareefa’s “Need A Boss” and “Cry No More.”
No.
It’s a good track, but this track needs major label backing to succeed. I like the Gap Band sample, though.
I am ready to hear it
