Cheryl Signs New Record Deal With Indie Dance Label Ahead Of Comeback

Published: Friday 26th Oct 2018 by Sam

When Cheryl sprung to solo stardom upon the culmination of Girls Aloud, she did so with the help of Polydor – a Universal imprint and one of the most powerful music entities in the UK.

However, as she pieces together her first project since giving birth last year, she’s taking an altogether different route. She’s going…indie.

Details below…

Per a new report, the 35-year-old has inked a deal with 3Beat – a specialist Dance label that’s home to world-renown DJ duo Sigma.

Citing a source close to the star, the following was shared expounding on developments:

“Cheryl has been working on music for the past six months.

The recording process has been driven solely by her and she wanted to retain as much of the creative control as possible.

After several meetings she did a deal with 3Beat because they’ve had huge success in the singles chart in the past few years and would give her creative freedom.

She has a string of singles she wants to release before committing to an album and now she can test the waters to do whatever she wants.”

Word is that Cheryl will offer up the first taste of new material when she releases single ‘Love Made Me Do It’ next month.

Like the title suggests, it looks like she’ll be touching on her romances – which have courted even more media attention that her music. Case in point her short-lived relationship with Pop pin-up Liam Payne, who fathered their 19-month-old son Bear.

As for her label situation, it’s unique to say the least. But to her credit, she has enough promotional platforms at her disposal to – at the very least – snag hit singles. It’ll be interesting to see if the stars align in her favour.
