Mariah Carey is returning to the TV talent-search circuit.
The diva, who famously deemed her time on American Idol as “the worst experience of my life,” has signed on to appear on rival show The Voice.
Details below…
Fellow NBC series TODAY revealed this morning that the songbird will be appearing as the Key Advisor on the current season of the hit series.
A sneak peek at her stint was also shared. She’s seen giving advice to Jennifer Hudson‘s contestants:
Granted The Voice has yet to yield a commercially viable act during its seemingly endless run, there’s no denying the potency of the platform. Hence, with new album ‘Caution’ incoming (Nov 16th), it’s a smart play for Mimi to hop aboard.
Quiet as it’s kept, we feel she’d make a great addition to the show in a more full-time “coach” capacity. Especially as one of the greatest voices of all-time.
That said, it’s anyone’s guess whether she’d like another swing of the bat in such a role after Idol. And it’s safe to assume that if she would, the pay packet would have to be colossal.
