After a brief spell out of the spotlight, Mario is back.
Today marks the release of the R&B star’s new album ‘Dancing Shadows’ – his first body of work in almost a decade.
Armed with the momentum of lead single ‘Drowning,’ the LP’s recently unwrapped title track, and his ‘Empire’ casting, the 32-year-old marks today’s occasion by unlocking the video for ‘Goes Like That.’

I bought the album first thing this morning. I’m honestly a little disappointed and I’ve been a fan from the beginning. I would describe Dancing Shadows as more of an experimental album where he tries different sounds he hasn’t done before. That would be a good thing if the songs were more polished. I tried listening to it in the car and the mixing is terrible on songs like “Too Many Options” where a perfectly good vocal from Mario is oversaturated by the bass and creates some annoying distortion. I unplugged my phone and put on an Aaliyah album. I’ll try Mario again some other day.
