It’s time to hop aboard the Soul Train!
BET presents the 2018 Soul Train Awards next month, so what better way to incite excitement than to reveal the official list of nominations?!
Two years after its release, Bruno Mars’ ’24k Magic’ project is still all sorts of popping thanks to hits such as ‘Finesse (ft. Cardi B)’ and a mammoth tour – which is still on-going.
Elsewhere, H.E.R has emerged as one of R&B’s definitive new break-out stars.
It’s fitting then that the pair lead with the most amount of nominations – both nabbing six.
Other names on the nominee list include icons such as Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce, as well as emerging stars ala Ella Mai and Daniel Caesar.

daniel, h.e.r., normani.. the next r and b generation finally starts to show some promise
Ummmm we gonna ignore that Cardi is also tied for most nominations with 6 also smh
?I’m not mad at this for the purposes of shining light on artist who aren’t shown throughout this society journey!!?
Damn the awards. The whole show should be an Aretha Franklin Tribute. Soul Train of all places SHOULD have the BEST one. They can pull the not as popular artists we need.
Leon Thomas being nominated for “Best New Artist” is such a stretch and a filler.

Thats why Award shows are just bs. They know they gotta nominate or give an award to big artists like Beyonce so they can get a Twitter social trend and to possibly get people online to turn over to the actual live program.

She needs to win
