Published: Friday 23rd Nov 2018 by David

Drake‘s legal feud with a company which claims he used its work without its permission is to make its way to court.

Details below…

It all started in 2014 when the Champagne Papi was sued by the estate of jazz icon Jimmy Smith and a publishing company called Hebrew Hustle over his alleged use of the artist’s work on a track named ‘Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2.’

The spat took a sharp turn for the worst when Drake countersued them for using his image to spread the idea that he had officially endorsed its work and had worked with the company.

Today, the parties sharpen their legal knives as they prepare to battle it out in court!

‘The Blast’ shares…

Hebrew Hustle filed their witness list with the court and Drake’s name is featured as one of the main people they want to take the stand.

The court documents note that Drake’s testimony will be live and not previously recorded, meaning he will be in front of a jury.

He is yet to issue a statement in response.
