Cynthia Erivo continues to collect wins.
In recent years, the rising star has made a seismic mark on-stage and on the big screen following critically acclaimed showings in productions such as the ‘Color Purple’ (for which she earned a Tony) and ‘Widows’ (which she starred in alongside Viola Davis).
Now, just one year after taking home her first Grammy Award, the multi-talented Brit has inked a lucrative record deal.

Billboard reports that Erivo has singed with Universal’s Verve Records.
Home to an eclectic list of acts including Andrea Bocelli and Diana Krall.
Speaking on the partnership, Danny Bennett, president & CEO of Verve Label Group, said in a statement:

The gifted star will be hitting the studio in 2019 to record her major label debut.
She’ll also be intensifying her presence on the big screen in the New Year. For, she’ll be appearing in the lead role of Harriet Tubman in the biopic ‘Harriet’ and in other flicks such as ‘Chaos Walking’ and ‘Needle In A Timestack’ with Orlando Bloom, Leslie Odom Jr, and Frida Pinto.
