More bad news for fans of Destiny’s Child diva Michelle Williams.
The ‘Fearless’ singer, who stunned her followers last week with the announcement she was splitting from fiance Chad Johnson (with whom she shares the OWN reality show, ‘Chad Loves Michelle’), is reportedly set to depart from another love: her latest Broadway outing.
Details inside:
As we reported here, Williams joined the cast of Broadway’s ‘Once on This Island’ to play the role of “Erzulie.” Starting her run on November 30, the ‘Heard a Word’ singer was scheduled to stay onboard until the show’s close on January 6th.
However, as a recently issued press release reveals, she has abruptly exited the show due to doctor’s orders. According to ET [source]:
…[Williams] will be replaced by her understudy, Cassondra James, from now until Dec. 26. Lea Salonga, who originated the role, will then step in from Dec. 27 through its final performance on Jan. 6.
While the specific health ailment causing her departure was not listed in the release, sources believe it to be related to her ongoing battle with mental health – a cause she’s not only championed but been very public about her struggles with.
Here’s hoping the best for Michelle our belle!
