Rapper Obie Trice Apologizes After Delivering Anti-LGBT Rant In Defense of Kevin Hart

“Who is Obie Trice“?  Billboard doesn’t know and we figured you didn’t either.

But, what we do know is the Eminem protege – best known (if known at all) for his early 2000’s Hip Hop hits as part of the defunct rap group D12 and scattered offerings beyond that – became LGBT public enemy #1 when his homophobic rant in support of Kevin Hart landed him atop headlines.

The backlash was so fierce it’s led the forgotten emcee to deliver an apology.  Details inside:

During a recent show in Toronto, Canada, the rapper reportedly stated (in a now deleted video):

“The state’s trying to bully you into respecting this gay shit. The state’s trying to bully you into respecting this gay shit.”

He continued with his rant:

“I could have a conversation with you but I don’t fuck with what you do,” he continued. “P*ssy only. P*ssy only. And listen, you men that changed your body to be women, you can never be a motherf*ckin’ woman. But we supposed to respect gay and they took my man Kevin Hart. [He] had to duck down [and] get off the Oscars because of this. All he wanted to do was the mothaf*ckin’ Oscars.”

The 41-year-old’s since recanted.  In a video uploaded to Instagram today, he said:
