Ariana Grande has done it…again.
She’s officially nabbed another UK chart-topper and this time it’s with newest release ‘7 Rings.’
Details below…
The vocal supernova unleashed the infectious cut (alongside its video) last Friday and after a full tracking week has seen the song premiere at #1 on the Official UK Singles Chart. It marks the songbird’s fourth time atop of the coveted count.
Issued as the latest taste of forthcoming album ‘Thank U, Next’ (which arrives February 8th), the track amassed combined sales of 126,000.
Cementing the singer’s status as leader of the current streaming scene, ‘7’s success is powered largely by online, on-demand plays. For, of its total sales, just 15,000 were accrued from digital downloads. The remaining was tallied up from its 16.9 million streams. A figure which set a new UK chart record for the most streams of a song in a single week.
But that’s not all! Get into a number of notable stats about ‘7 Rings’:
- it earns the honour of being Grande’s highest sales debut in the UK, after besting the 113k of ‘Problem.’
- it’s the second time Grande has scored two #1’s from the same album; the first being ‘Problem’ and ‘Bang Bang’ (from 2014’s ‘My Everything’), and once again with ‘7 Rings’ and ‘Thank U, Next’ from the latter’s like-titled LP.
- ‘7 Rings’ becomes the first single to score over 100,000 combined sales in a week since June 2017.
Suffice to say, all points to the potency of Ari’s popularity at present and sets up her album campaign exquisitely.
