After much controversial ado, Maroon 5 performed at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Drawing on an array of production bells and whistles, the chart-topping band took to the field of Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium to deliver a set list comprised of their classic cuts.
Later calling on special guests Big Boi and Travis Scott to assist, the trio of acts scored big with Twitter commenters – many of whom are still ablaze with excitement (as of time reported). Did they live up to the hype?

It was a hot mess. Probably the most random halftime show I’ve ever seen. The performers up there together just didn’t make sense and was awkward, going from Adam to Travis who was only there for 5 seconds, to Adam, to Big Boi. None of it matched. All the drama surrounding this just for it to be bad? A waste. They would’ve been better off just playing the whole spongebob clip.
I wanted to hate this so bad, I had even start to type up my negative review. That’s how bad I wanted to hate this. But Adam and Maroon 5 did their dang thing. Love love love it. Adams voice was on point and he carried the show. It was a great switch up from all the pop acts.
Now for the negative. Travis was completely unnecessary. I felt like he was thrown in there for the kids but his set was weak, his energy was weak and was just out of place.
Love Big Bois cameo. I thought it was fitting considering it is ATL and the song they performed was very fitting as well.
All in all a solid 7 out of 10. Much much better than JT last year.

@Eric – I have to agree with you. I just finished watching it and it was a jumbled mess! And I guess they were mainly trying to cater to the urban, young crowd. Overall…IT SUCKED!

I agree. Catina and cardi, swap out Travis for Future performing “Cold” with them, and sure keep Big Boi if you want for the ATL vibe however an Outkast reunion would have made more waves.

They actually did a good job. It was really no different from other super bowl performances. They just aren’t urban artists. Plus with the Kap stuff, people are vocal about a lot anyway.
