The Predictions Are In! Pink’s ‘Hurts 2B Human’ Set To Sell…

Published: Wednesday 1st May 2019 by Sam

Pink may be in the midst of a two-year tour for 2017’s ‘Beautiful Trauma,’ but she’s just dropped a new album in the form of ‘Hurts 2B Human.’

Led by international hit ‘Walk Me Home,’ the set features contributions from the likes of Khalid and Chris Stapleton and is being hailed for being one of the singer’s strongest efforts in recent years.

And while it’s delivering on the critical front, attention now turns to its commercial performance.

Well, wonder no more because the first week forecasts are in…

According to Hits Daily Double, ‘Hurts’ is on course to open with:

99,000-106,000
[Sales Plus Streaming]
************
85,000-90,000
[Pure Sales]

*********

The numbers put Pink in contention for a #2 debut on the Billboard 200; she’s currently battling out with ‘Hillsong United’ from the Hillsong Church (which is eyeing a 110k-120k opening).

Though commendable in the current climate, the figure pales in comparison to the 408,000 premiere of ‘Beautiful Trauma’ (a career best for Pink at the time). That project benefited from a tour ticket bundle. Ironically for the tour she’s presently on.

That said, the star’s career holistically hasn’t ever followed a specific trajectory. So it’s anyone’s guess where this LP will end up by the climax of its narrative. Because, listening to it, she certainly has a few clear single options (see: title track, ’90 Days,’ ‘Love Me Anyway’). All of which could give the album legs.

Your thoughts?

Feel like this album release kind of has gone under the radar or maybe it’s just me

    • #TheTruth May 1, 2019

I agree. It would have been nice to release it after the BB awards so she’d get at least one big televised performance.
But I don’t know if it would have been possible with her tour schedule.
She would have been ok if the lead single had performed better…

I’m a pink fan but she’s losing me (and everyone else). The biggest problem is she’s lost her edge. Noticed the loss on the last album and now this one.

  4. XYZ May 1, 2019

Don’t know, I somehow lost interest in her somewhen between the last and this era. While she switches some things up her albums all seem to sound a bit alike. And I already got bored while listening to the snippets of this album. The first single wasn’t good as well and she had no momentum.

I want “There U Go” Pink back for at least 1 track.

Idk this album didn’t do anything for me it all sounds the same to me. It’s even worse than her last one and that doesn’t say much cause that one wasn’t that good either. I feel like she traded her edgy side for basic pop.
    This album felt rushed too.

    Really!? Who’s buying her music!?

    • S.U.P.E.R.S.T.A.R.!. May 1, 2019

@Lou ..- I asked the same question. I was surprised that the projections were so high! She’s boring and doesn’t even make a blip on the radar.

  10. JOHNVIDAL May 1, 2019

I have always said it her music is not especially good. But people have been loving her. I suppose this is just one more proof sales are almost non existant these days. I don´t think Beyonce will see more than 300k opening week anytime soon either for example. This is just downhill. Except for Taylor (I suppose, sadly) and Adele… bitchs it is impossible for the rest of them. And the artists that never were that big are now selling… 15k first week lol I mean, it´s the industry at the moment.

PS: I´ve discovered Kesha´s album this week like two years fater release LOL And it´s damnn good. What a surprise.

    • Theman May 1, 2019

That isn’t it. The anticipation wasn’t as big, there was no major hit. And this one was released out of nowhere. These are still good numbers though in general. She’s an underdog even with her great success. Her performances and longevity sale her music too lol.

This album was rushed . Send it back.

  12. ??? May 1, 2019

lmaooooo FAR more than a certain epic FLOP of 14k sales even after a tired ass netflix clickbait show, but i still havent seen a post about that lmfaoooooooooooooooooo

  13. Datredd23 May 1, 2019

Everyone always have something to say she is doing great 20 years into her career a true underdog and she slays the album is really good ! Leave it at that

  14. thanosoftitan May 1, 2019

Her earlier work is far superior than her later efforts.

    Unfortunate.

  15. Liam May 1, 2019

Her albums always do great in the long run as she always promote her albums after the release the traditional way

  16. Dev May 1, 2019

Pink has been in generic mode for a while and these last two albums are the pinnacle of it.
I’m happy that she’s still able to garner interest in her music, but it has become more of the same.
Her first two albums were the best musically and vocally.

  17. Casual May 1, 2019

Not bad numbers at all. Pink has been out here for almost 20 years. Her arc is starting to wane, which is natural for someone with her kind of longevity.

  18. Caleb May 1, 2019

It’s not bad for an album no one even knows about.

  19. S.U.P.E.R.S.T.A.R.!. May 1, 2019

Who in the f^ck is buying this crap? This is really the end of days.
    #Ridiculous

This album is like Pink Lite. You can’t expect artists to right smash hits all the time. She put the album out cause she’s writing about where she is in life. If people like it, she’s happy about that. If not, it’s no skin off her nose. Don’t forget “Try This” and “I’m Not Dead” weren’t huge albums for her. But then came funhouse and truth about love. PINKs not done, she’s just doing her thing, like she always has. Quit being haters.

    • Devon May 2, 2019

      *write

    • Blaine Kelley May 2, 2019

You’re right about “Try This”, which was a major flop after the epic era that was “Mizunderstood”.

However, despite a weak debut “I’m Not Dead” went on to be huge and basically saved her career once 3rd single “You + Ur Hand” blew the eff up and rekindled interest in her and the album as a whole.

…not sure I see this new album pulling an “I’m not dead”
