The MC, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was handed the order for violating probation.
He was arrested on April 11th for failing to attend court-ordered community service and making attempts to falsify evidence.
For his troubles, the star – who was held without bail – has been hit with 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service.
But that’s not all.
When his girlfriend alleged that she was being held captive at his residence, police swamped the spot and found ammunition. Another violation of his probation.
While it remains to be seen if there’ll be any ramifications for that, it seems his current sentence is one he ought to be thankful for. Because, per TMZ, the judge was considering a serving him a two year stint in state prison. However, leniency was given in light of what his lawyer deemed a personal “awakening” within the rapper and the fact that his business will be impacted by his incarceration.
The sentence comes just months after Soulja bragged about not going down like Tekashi 69.
Suffice to say, this will no doubt serve as a cautionary tale.
