The wins just keep getting handed to rapper Lil Nas X.
The 20-year-old, whose Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted megahit ‘Old Town Road’ is enjoying its 12th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (click here to read more), has learned the tune’s parent project – the ‘7’ EP – is riding toward similar chart glory on the Billboard 200.
Details inside:
Released June 21, ‘7’ – the debut EP from Lil Nas X courtesy of Columbia Records – shot to the top of real time iTunes and Spotify charts on the strength of digital downloads and streams respectively. Maintaining buoyancy near the top of both tallies in the days that followed, industry analysts are forecasting the set will shift approximately 70,000-80,000 SPS units by the end of its inaugural sales tracking week (June 28 at 12am).
As of time reported, the prediction places him in front of a very tight race to #1 on next week’s Billboard 200. According to our friends at HitsDailyDouble, JackWhite-fronted rockers The Raconteurs – driven by a large ticket bundle and strong indie sales of their latest project – are also on pace to shift 70-80k by the close of its first week. Reports have it, however, X’s performance at Sunday’s BET Awards may have provided just the sales and streaming boost needed to edge out the competition.
Keep it locked to That Grape Juice next week for the official report of who won the chart showdown.
Your thoughts?
His pure sales will only be 4-7k. FLOP!!!! No matter the climate. He has a huge cultural hit single and he’s selling less than 10k.
Panini is the only song I like from him. That record Rodeo with CardiB is Pure Trash

Gurl stfu! You just big mad because it will be a bigger hit than MegaDrop without a video! ????
Your tastes are not mine, i like Rodeo. The song is not trash, you just don’t like it.
