Beyonce Reveals Tracklist For ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ / Teams With Kendrick Lamar, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Childish Gambino, Jay-Z, & More

Published: Tuesday 16th Jul 2019 by Sam

With just days to go before ‘The Lion King’ roars in theaters, Beyonce has unveiled the cover and tracklist for her companion compilation project – ‘The Lion King: The Gift.’

Initially announced last week, the set promises to honor the essence of the film and is billed as being a sonic cinema love letter to Africa.

To honor this, Bey has teamed with an eclectic list of the continent’s top names including WizKid, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, and Burna Boy.

Also featured are rap titans Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z, as well as rising femcee Tierra Whack. ‘Lion King’ co-star Childish Gambino also appears.

What are you waiting for? Check out the tracklist below…

On the project, Beyonce said:

“This is sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling.  I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”

She added:

“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline. Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery, while listening to a new contemporary interpretation. It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me.”

‘The Lion King: The Gift’ arrives on July 19th, alongside the film.

    • Rosy July 16, 2019

I can’t with Naha voice, I need to go watch the original lion king jeez I’m sorry this remake is not it should have left well enough alone , the original song is crappy sung by Beyoncé she will get a nod because she is beyonce and the beehive will bully the academy people to vote for her. Can she work on her dry ass tone of a voice I’m sure the critics wanted to go there with criticism of her voice but was scared of the hives I like Beyoncé and been to her concert great performer #savenahla

How sweet! The Lion King extended special album with songs like Brown Skin Girl and Mood 4eva!

  4. #TheTruth July 16, 2019

I have high hopes for that album. I really hope it’s real African sounds and not just a few vibes here and there. I love Spirit so if it’s in the same line, it should be fantastic.

    • XYZ July 16, 2019

As much as I dislike the “new” Beyonce (you all know she changed for the worse), I’m Kind of interested in the Sounds of this Album. Annoyed because of the blue ivy Song though. Celebrities should stop trying to make their kids happen. No one cares for their kids’ singing or acting

      • Abel July 16, 2019

        But I care

She is going to take another massive L

apparently she didnt learn her lesson with everything is love or homecoming.

  9. Clarkson July 16, 2019

This would be hot for 1 week and after that everybody would forget about this album

Featuring African musicians who dont know how to sing. Her toddler daughter even has a track on this album, smh, nobody is going to take this project seriously.

    • #TheTruth July 16, 2019

African musicians who can’t sing ? How would you know that, have you heard the songs already ?
Her daughter might get one or two lines on the song, so what ?
I don’t get how people are being so negative… and this has nothing to do with Beyoncé.
I don’t think she cares about sales with that project, that’s why she didn’t do the whole African theme with a solo record and ditched the idea… too risky commercially speaking.

    • Tyty July 16, 2019

You’re such a disgusting, hateful individual you literally discredit African artist who have done a lot to bring African music to a global forefront… Including working on music for a much-loved film remake or not!! Simply because your loose booty is jealous of beyonce? You are the worst kind of disgusting gay. Go seek therapy for your disgusting self-hate.

      • Abeg July 17, 2019

Afrobeats and Afrobeat are two different genres. Traditional sounds? Some thrown in but both were built off African American genres. I suggest you study Fela 😉

Yemi is the only one who can saaang. You know the others can’t sing now.

  11. Tyty July 16, 2019

Humm I’m interested to hear this looks good.

  12. XYZ July 16, 2019

I was so looking forward seeing that film, but so annoyed by now as it turns out to be the Beyonce show. Damn, she is just Lana…not one of the real iconic characters like simba, pumba or scar

  13. MessyBoots July 16, 2019

    YES! I CANNOT F****** WAIT 2 LISTEN!!!!!!

Bey is a generous Queen. ????

  14. Navy Gravy July 16, 2019

Beyoncé in recent years has picked up this habit of adding forgettable content to her discography. I hope this isn’t one of those situations. I’m looking forward to hearing these songs and hope not to be disappointed again

  15. Lol July 16, 2019

Can she do any musical project without her husband?? I’m so tired of that. We’ve gotten this every year since 2002 ?

    • WWWD WHAT WOULD WHITNEY DO July 16, 2019

Jayz need to pull back. She fckef up his career…she don’t love jayz how Whitney loved Bobby brown.. darling
She don’t even kiss him in public…like Whitney Houston did Bobby…

      • XYZ July 16, 2019

And she isnt doing because of him. Like Whitney die because of Bobby

  16. WHERE IS SHE July 16, 2019

Unfortunately THE LION KING movie has awful and poor reviews both from the critics and the audience.
It is 5,1/10 on IMDB and 60% on rotten tomatoes, so it is officially a FLOP as a movie.

The Spirit is a flop, Beyonce’s voice is clearly struggling, her rendition on Can You Feel the Love Tonight also bombs. FLOPYONCÉ again.

    Tell him, boy bye.

  17. fakearsenappers July 16, 2019

its a no for me dogg

  18. WWWD WHAT WOULD WHITNEY DO July 16, 2019

Whitney Houston did not need a football team to record …..damn….

B**** Beyonce you still can’t sing like Whitney Houston shout out to jayz she pulling on that d*** hard ….

  19. WWWD WHAT WOULD WHITNEY DO July 16, 2019

    But not rihanna….

B**** Beyonce has a football team just to record..well we know she can not sing like Whitney……

    • Jasmine1999 July 16, 2019

Is this a damn bot commenting ? Why is it commenting every post about Whitney Houston, weirdo

    • Partaker4 July 18, 2019

No Beyoncè and Whitney are two different people. One is living life and doing what she loves. While the other overdosed by snorting what she loved. #Beyonceisverylively #Whitneyisnotthatlively

  20. Keith July 16, 2019

I am anxious to hear this and even more excited now that I see the co-creators/guest stars. Like other posters, I agree it’s time for Blue to just simply be a child. Also, as I too have been disappointed with her musical output since “4”, I hope this is a return to some good music, lyrics and vocals for the talented Mrs. Carter…

  21. Marcopolo916 July 16, 2019

Just like B’Day was inspired by the movie Dreamgirls and that album was a BANGER!!!! Watch this album do the same!!!!! ???? #QueenBey #BowDown!!!!!!!
