Beyonce sits atop of the Pop pack and the charts are reflecting.
Yesterday saw Queen Bey unleash ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ – a multi-artist companion project she curated in support of the movie.
Billed as a “love letter to Africa,” the set saw the singer assemble a who’s who of the Afrobeats scene – such as Tiwa Savage and Wizkid – alongside US titans like Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Pharrell.
And early signs point to the public lapping it up!
Details below…
As at writing, ‘The Gift’ sits at #1 on both iTunes and Apple Music US – indicating solid out of the gate performance on both digital and streaming formats.
Elsewhere, WizKid collaboration ‘Brown Skin Girl’ is proving one of the most popular cuts from the collection.
It’s charged into the top 10 of iTunes US (at #9) and rising fast on on Apple Music at #14.

Both the album and ‘Brown Skin’ have buckets of potential. So we’re keen to see how this plays out.
