Cardi believes that she popularised the phrase and set out to trademark it so that she could exploit it to support her rising career.
Unfortunately, the U.S. Patent and Trademark told her that the catchphrase is commonly used within society and did not deserve to be trademarked because it “is a slogan or term that does not function as a trademark or service mark to indicate the source of applicant’s goods and/or services.”
Also hurting her cause? The fact that is the phrase has also been used by the Kardashians and the fact that a number of her fans already filed similar trademark applications for it long before she did.
