This Friday sees Beyonce unleash her new project ‘The Lion King: The Gift.’
Arriving in tandem with the hotly anticipated ‘Lion King’ movie, the companion compilation boasts all-new songs from Queen Bey as well as top-tier talent from the Afro and Western diasporas.
Thus far, the featured acts have been revealed and include the likes of Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, and Yemi Alade. Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Pharrell also appear.
Joining them, it seems, is Major Lazer.
Details below…
Taking to Twitter, Diplo playfully shared a tweet that suggests his group will be appearing on the set. He wrote:
“I’ve heard rumors of a Beyonce & Major Lazer collab”
The producer capped the post with a Lion emoji, so as to leave no doubt about the location of the creative pairing (Bey’s ‘Lion King’ soundtrack):
It wouldn’t be the first time the producer himself has teamed with Bey. He helmed the bodacious bops ‘End Of Time’ and ‘Run The World’ – both of which fit sonically with the Afrocentric sound Bey has cultivated for this project. Could more of that fiery flavor be incoming? We sure hope so!
