With ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ taking residence at New York’s Barclay’s Center this week, who better than NY native Alicia Keys to kick off affairs.
The 15-time Grammy winner was on-hand to perform new single ‘Show Love’ (from her upcoming album). And while she wasn’t joined by collaborator Miguel, she did hold her own.
She also sat down with Kimmel to discuss her incoming memoir, ‘More Myself.’ A project she deemed “a journey.”

We love the song and believe in its potential, but do feel it’d benefit from more robust production when performed live.
In such a large setting, the song almost gets swallowed up in the enormity of the space and would sound much fuller with additional layers of instrumentation – drums, bass, keys. Something.

Alicia made her mark as one of the highest selling R&B artists in history. She’s 40 years old and no longer makes radio friendly music. Her decline was inevitable. Stop expecting legacy artists to sell like Taylor Swift. It ain’t happening. Camilla wishes she could have a successful career like Alicia.
