As reported, the Pop pin-up cited a need for pause in activity due to the non-stop pace of his career and the hardships (including drug abuse) that burnt him out.
However, during an Instagram Live with wife Hailey Bieber, the star revealed that the follow-up to 2015’s hit machine ‘Purpose’ would be arriving “before 2020.”

Despite the four year gap between projects, Bieber has maintained a presence of sorts – collaborating on smashes with the likes of DJ Khaled and more recently Ed Sheeran.
Time will tell if those bridging efforts have helped him adequately maintain his momentum.
