I liked jojo growing. Too little too late, get out, I’m not that kind of girl , were my jams, but jojo hasn’t evolved or grown. Her look is still the same, her vocals still the same etc.
I’m really sorry that you grew up with the trash music you did because it has ruined your ear. Ariana, Demi, Camilla none of them would exist without JoJo! They’ve said themselves in videos before they got big that they looked up to her and loved her voice! Also Camila mostly mimes to tracks live. Its FACT. On SNL it was so painfully obvious she wasn’t actually singing. JoJo could sing a perfect ONE take studio quality vocal for you in person right now without sweating out her baby hairs.
To the person saying she doesn’t have her ear on the pulse of today’s music I say that she’s not a sheeple like the herd. She’s not afraid to be the FIRST to do something which she showed all those years ago as the YOUNGEST EVER number ONE billboard artist. She’s giving us real RNB. She’s giving us perfect tone, runs, tuning and most-importantly she’s giving us VIBE and CONNECTION. Thats why artists like Whitney Houston, Smoky Robinson, Chaka Khan, Maxwell, Mariah Carey and so many others have co-signed her talent. She has old skool RNB language/vocabulary (melodic) too in her sound which most of these new girls have no clue about. Those girls you like don’t naturally have runs like they do on records, they learn the runs from demos that somebody else wrote. Jojo don’t need anyone, she has crazy ears and harmonic sense. I love that the single doesn’t follow the homogenous “Follow whatever b******* is out now” format and go for the obvious club banger.
Everyone is so desensitized by this club banger b*******, ryan tedder f****** chorus first, no attention span having, commercial b*******! Please cleanse your palette and open your minds and hearts to something deeper than music that is designed to sell you clothes and a lifestyle you can’t obtain!

It’s not a bad song but that’s an album track.
It’s not a comeback song, it’s 100% disconnected from today’s music landscape.
I really like her, she can sing for real, but she needs producers who will give her good single material. And she can do her thing on the rest of the album.

JoJo is so talented & underrated AF. This is definitely a different type of record, but an amazing song nonetheless. JoJo isn’t chasing the average sounding radio records like the girls y’all mentioned in previous comments. She’s an actual vocalist & artist.
@Kim.. – I agree. It was a bit of a slow build but I get the sound that she is going after. It’s a more soulful sound so it’s a different group of listeners/buyers she’s going after.

I’m so happy for Jojo this go round! Having been close to her last project, I’m glad to see that she’s been able to make the music SHE wants to make. She is not trying to compete with today’s pop girls. She LOVES R&B and SOUL and this is the type of music she has wanted to make for years! There are so many politics that go on in this business and the artists are usually the casualties. For the ones that think they know…you don’t. If this song isn’t your cup of tea then it wasn’t made for you. Go sip somewhere else.
