Lil Kim‘s quest for comeback was bolstered by a well-executed promotional campaign launched by the fresh team of managers the icon enlisted to lead the next phase of her career.
Unfortunately, those who had hoped her new album ‘9′ would benefit from the managerial changes have learned that the worst has happened….at least commercially.
For, the set is reported to have sold under 1,000 copies in the US and become one of the lowest-selling albums in chart history after it failed to impact the Billboard 200 in its opening week.
Accused of dashing salt on Kim’s three figure chart wound? Nicki Minaj.

Though nothing in the messages above indicate she was addressing her Hip-Hop sister’s bad news, many took to social media to argue that she was.

‘9’ is the first album Kim has released since 2005’s ‘The Naked Truth’ and was launched by eOne Music whose parent company Entertainment One generated $1,219,724,200 this year.
Here’s hoping some of that revenue is used to give Kim’s exciting new music the backing it deserves in the coming months.
How her fans are responding to news of the album’s modest first week figure?
Yall dragging Lil Kim’s sales like we in 1996. That lady is WELL outside her prime. And yes that album is trash but come on lol. None of the female rappers from the 90s are pushing any type of numbers in 2019.

I'm glad a certain fanbase is talking about Lil Kim, the Queen of Rap! We all know Kim is an obsession! What other HAS-BEEN gets talked about this MUCH?

I don’t think Lil Kim is worried about any album sales. She has sold millions of albums from previous albums she has. She know her staple in the industry is deep & she is the blueprint & inspiration for those today. Her star is still shining & she ain’t worried about the haters.

Some feel differently…
The funny thing is about that @LilKim fans really clowned @NICKIMINAJ for almost doing 200k first week on her 4th album. For then to not even buy or stream Kim’s!! Please dot. Defend if you didn’t buy the album. It was only $9.99

This can't be real life. Lil Kim failed to sell even a 1000 records? But I thought she was the queen of rap? I thought she was passing the torch to C*rdi? https://t.co/4azSZ7Ehtk pic.twitter.com/a61fjmbisU
