The release of Cabello’s second studio set ‘Romance‘ has seen her enjoy a sizeable streaming bump in the last 48 hours as fans celebrate its arrival by spinning her releases.
‘Liar’ stands head and shoulders above the rest. For, it’s video has been streamed 66 million times since its release 12 weeks ago placing $115,500 in the pockets of the track’s writers and owners.
With 178 million streams on Spotify, the single’s earnings from both platforms crosses the $800,000 marker as the track has generated 712,000 dollars for the star on the service since September 5th 2019.
Elsewhere, her Fifth Harmony sibling Normani glides to glory on the wings of the numbers she is generating via the string of smash hits she has released since the band’s demise.
This morning, fans learned ‘Motivation‘s official video has been streamed 73 million times to date which means Ariana Grande – one of its writers – is making a fortune.
A fortune, which sings to the tune of over 1 million dollars.
$127,000 of this has been generated from the track’s visual on YouTube, $226,920 from Spotify and over 700,000 sweet ones stem from Apple Music, radio airplay, TV synchronisation and live performance royalties.
Grande has a 5% share on the track.
As its performer, Normani’s income from the track will fly her way via its performance royalties.
Normani and Camila aren’t the only ones making moves.
Let’s take a trip to Tinashe‘s neck of the digital woods.
Though sales of her new album ‘Songs For You‘ were extremely modest, its individual tracks will amplify the singer/songwriter’s wealth come payday.
When combined, the tracks have been streamed over 9 million times on Spotify since November 21st 2019 and inspired the general public to revisit her debut album ‘Aquarius’...home of her breakout jams ‘2 On’ and ‘All Hands on Deck.’
‘2’ has earned 174 million spins on Spotify ($304,000) as ‘Hands” figure cuts a $600,000 shape on the same service after it was streamed 34 million times!
Last not but least is Billie Eilish.
As 2019’s breakout star the Pop starlet’s numbers (sold and streamed) eclipse those garnered by her closest competitors and are expected to do the same in 2020.
Powering her reign is the ubiquitous ‘Bad Guy.’
As of today, it has been streamed over 1 billion times on Spotify which makes it one of the highest-earning tracks of the year…much to the delight of execs at Interscope.
Why? The cut has pocketed $1 million from Spotify alone.
A new Billie album will make its way to retailers next year.
