Full story below…

Billboard have revealed that, with the holidays in rearview Carey’s classic now has the distinct stat of marking the first time a song has dropped from #1 to totally off the tally.

It doing so, it snatches said title from The Weeknd, whose recent #1 ‘Heartless’ dropped from #1 to #17.

Ever playful, Mimi responded with:

Got to love her!

And why wouldn’t she be humorous with it. After all, she scored her 19th #1, nabbed three weeks at the top, and became the first artist in history to achieve #1s in four different decades.

      • SMH January 7, 2020

Exactly, I don’t see anything worth celebrating about plummeting off the charts after one week, only to be totally gone from the charts for another year.

  4. Fancy BISH January 7, 2020

  6. Adina… Adina… Say Adina January 7, 2020

It’s a Christmas song… totally makes sense. Who’s still playing it now? She’s a legend… nothing and no one can take that from her. Periodt

  7. SNF January 7, 2020

    Uhhhh Christmas is over duhhhh

  8. Missy January 7, 2020

A Christmas song falls off the charts after the Christmas season… groundbreaking.
It went #1 due to streaming, right? Who the hell is streaming Christmas, after Christmas? NO ONE! lol
Fact is, y’all said she would never have another number one, and BOOM POW, Mariah gets a New number, with a song that came out 25 years ago. That’s the real kiikii!
Y’all keep counting this Legend out and her rich ass keeps making you all simple mad. Just stop and get on the respect train. It’s a more peaceful place

  9. menudi January 7, 2020

Its hilarious seeing people trying to come for Mariah for this happening lol!

The absolute lack of knowledge of stans these days is deplorable.

And imaging spanning 30 years of a career and people still choosing words like irrelevant to describe you….in your 30th year!!!!!! Someone make it make sense!

Just the power of her being able to still corner a part of the market in the music industry is legendary! Name another singer in their 30th year who has managed to come even close to doing what she is doing!

    I’LL WAIT!

  10. Gotcha January 7, 2020

Its a holiday song! Thats what they do after the holidays. I would bet my soul that it will be back on there at years end!

  11. #TheTruth January 7, 2020

Sure Mariah’s career isn’t like in the 90s. But look at how many of her peers from that decade are still around and active…
Jeez, younger artists don’t even manage to stay relevant for more than 5 years or so.
Nobody can take away her accomplishments nor her talent. And don’t forget she wrote/co-wrote 18 of those 19 #1s.
Sure it’s easy to criticize but once you accomplish even a quarter of what she’s done, maybe you can start talking.

As far as I’m concerned, I wish she had never created that diva persona because it totally killed her career. Especially on a international scale, on top of the fact her sounds became more urban. Which I don’t mind on that part.
I also which she wouldn’t overproduce her vocals on every song and sometimes just sing for real with one layer and a few adlibs.

  12. Justafan January 7, 2020

to call an xmas song a flop after 3 weeks at the top during the holiday season is reaching . it’s a holiday song ppl, get your seasons right.

  13. High Price January 8, 2020

She’ll probably go number 1 next year again. Then that’ll be another record set for her.

    • Yus January 9, 2020

Looking forward to December when the song will ‘sleigh’ again…. ?
