A year after threatening to retire from the music industry, Lil Uzi Vert surprised fans with the release of his long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Eternal Atake,’ on Friday (March 6).
Teased in earnest in the days ahead of its arrival (see: short film, revelation of multiple covers, etc.), the 18-track set – originally projected to hit shelves March 13 – sees the rapper (born Symere Woods) take center stage as the effort only boasts one feature (The Internet’s Syd).
Now, after just two days of availability, industry analysts are already predicting blockbuster opening numbers for the project. Going head to head with Urban superstars Megan Thee Stallion and Jhené Aiko, see just how many units Woods is set to shift by the end of ‘Atake’s inaugural sales tracking week:
Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’
First Week Sales Prediction (SPS): 275,000-325,000
First Week Sales Prediction (Pure): 5,000-8,000
First Week Chart Prediction: #1
If the prediction above rings true, ‘Atake’ will not only be accompanied by the best first week sales of his career but also the biggest numbers for any solo act this year. Surpassing the title’s previous owner, Justin Bieber (with his February 14th-released ‘Changes’ album), the only 2020 effort with bigger figures is ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ – the latest album from K-Pop hitmakers BTS.
