Tamia & Deborah Cox Wow With Virtual ‘Count On Me’ Collaboration [Video]

Published: Saturday 28th Mar 2020 by Sam

As living R&B vocalists go, few can rival the premium of Tamia and Deborah Cox.

So, imagine the slay of a collaboration?

The ladies lived up to expectation during a virtual sing-a-long designed to lift spirits during this testing time.

Together they belted out a full version of Whitney Houston and Cece Winans classic ‘Count On Me.’

The dynamic duo joined forces in response to Winans’ #CountOnMeChallenge, which was launched akin to Tyler Perry’s #HesGotTheWholeWorldChallenge.

Watch the seasoned divas take vocal flight, accompanied by Shep Crawford, after the jump…

Incredible! We have chills.

I need someone to educate me on music. I grew up in a super sheltered religious household so I am not familiar with most classic music. The first time I heard this song was on Sister, Sister.

This song is a duet from the waiting to exhale soundtrack

It was originally performed by Whitney Houston and Cece Winans

My favorite two female singers, the industry slept..on them, it’s never been about their talent or image..just a record label, who fail to do, their Job!!?

They couldn’t deliver up tempos. Goes to shoe it takes more than vocal ability alone to make a superstar

Deborah C** has 13 #1 Billboard dance hits, many of which are iconic, “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here to Absolutely Not. Puts her in the top 20 of artists with the most #1 dance hits, right behind Whitney and David Guetta.

    BEAUTIFUL

First of all, can we acknowledge how flawlessly beautiful these two gorgeous Queens are. They have been in the game 20 plus years looking like they just stepped out of a time machine from 1998. My goodness. Melanin is a such a beautiful trait.

The vocal slayage was also effortless. Reminds me of a period when RnB was about VOCALS and not everyone trying to impersonate ONE sound.

Perhaps one day in the distant future popular music can return to VOCALS instead of whatever is charting on today’s ‘Cold 100’ chart.

It’s cute, but it’s still out of touch. They over here singing “Count on Me” when the truth is if you catch C********** and have to be hospitalized, you’ll be in isolation so you might die alone. It would’ve been better if they donated money/resources to medical workers or folks left with huge hospital bills from treatment. I’m not here for the usual celebrity feel-good B.S.

    • JustCarter March 29, 2020

Who’s to say they did not donate money and resources to medical workers or people impacted by C*******. We live in a world where we/they can do both, not in a world where it is either or. This is the gift they chose to share publicly and the gift they are most known for. Music is healing.
