Following a PR tornado which saw the performer cast as somewhat of a far-right villain in Pop’s story, Swift re-emerged in 2019 as a fun-loving and left-leaning songbird with a new album named ‘Lover.’
Today she has learned that sales of the set and her earlier releases made her the highest-selling artist of the year….globally.

In October 2019, the Urban starlet Summer Walker saw her debut album ‘Over It‘ soar to number 2 on the Billboard 200 with the highest first-week streaming figure to be earned by a female R&B star to date.
This, after the Pop princess Normani launched the smash hit jam ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ with Brit-Pop prince Sam Smith and watched it glide to glory with over 10 million sales-equivalent units sold worldwide.
Back in July, the Nigerian superstar Burna Boy unleashed his hit-kissed album ‘African Giant’ which earned a Metacritic score of 80 out of 100, as the Dutch musician Cimo Frankel saw sales of his music clock in at the 650,000 unit mark in Europe and 1.2 million album equivalent-units worldwide.
