Stream: JoJo’s New Album ‘Good to Know’

Published: Thursday 30th Apr 2020 by Rashad

‘Good to Know,’ the long-awaited fourth studio album from powerhouse songbird JoJo, flew to digital shelves Friday (May 1).

Although its accompanying era was launched on the wings of ‘Sabotage’ and the deeply personal ‘Joanna,’ two buzz singles that are absent from the final tracklist, the first real offering from the set came in the form of the Beatgodz-produced ‘Man.’

As that critically acclaimed song continues its ascent up R&B charts, its parent album hits shelves.  Look inside for the latest from Jo:

I like “Gold”, “Small Things”, “Lonely Hearts”, and “Don’t Track Me Down”, but 29 minutes total?! That’s a raw deal for everyone including JoJo.

Im really disappointed. Jojo is my favorite artist and i have rocked with her since her first single. I completely stan for her, but this album would have better served as an ep. her voice sounds amazing on this album and there are some great songs by way of gold and dont talk me down but it was all slow tempo songs. None of which eminent of ‘edible, reckless or demonstrate” and no uptempo songs by way of “good thing”. Jojo makes great uptempo bops. 9 songs after a four year wait is unacceptable. 2 of which where early release that ive played so much i skip over so that leaves 7 and im not a fan of small things so all in all it takes like 15 minutes for me to listen to this album. Def not enough time to get lost in it. Hell even if you listen to the full 30 min run time thats not enough time for an album to take u anywhere. By the time i start to get into it, its over and time to put on a diff album. I wish she would have shot for 14-16. Can anyone answer if labels are the ones who choose how many songs are approved cause i cant understand these artists releasing 8-9 song albums. Im still gonna go to her tour cause shes still my fave. Just not really here for this album.

I agree… she should have served slim 5-track EP as a prelude to a full album.

It kinda melts into each other and becomes one down tempo boring slog towards the end. “Man”, “Things About You”, “Comeback” and “Small Things” along with “Sabotage” are the only tracks worth checking.

This tatted up hood mouse cusser persona is just NOT her. It prevents her from standing out in a saturated pop scene. As if she doesn’t believe in her material (rightfully so, except for “Man”). Nothing she has put out will compare to “The Way You Do Me”, “How to Touch a Girl”, or the timeless “Talk to God”! Heck, I even have “Get Out” and “Too Late” on rotation on my phone. Again, she’s pretty, young, and accomplished enough to snag a Silicon Valley millionaire and have the happy family she wanted for herself as a kid. Good voice … bad repertoire or timing.

The album is dated and cheap mixtape quality… I’ll give a “Z” for zero & Zzzzzzz for putting me to sleep. So disappointing! She needs a major label to guide her to success.

This album is fire. Exactly the type of music she should be making- grown and s*** vocally driven music that speaks to musical people. Great vocals and music you can replay

Fire????? More like your grandma’s old dusty pie, all dry & bland. High road 06’ is still da best album. Her voice totally strained after 2nd album. It’s such a pain to hear her re-recording previous albums which was unnecessary.

I still have The High Road CD. 😆
