And it turns out the Houston femcee was just as surprised.
Speaking with Ebro on Beats 1 radio as the song storms its way up the charts, Hot Girl Meg unpacked how the Queen Bey collaboration came to be,

Meg said:
“I got a call one day and they were like, ‘Yeah, Beyonce gonna do a remix of Savage.’ And I was like, ‘Shut the f*ck up.’ I did not believe it. (At first) I was like, ‘Ok, whatever.’”
She went on to share her sentiments on the day it dropped:
“I woke up and I was like – because I knew the song was coming out – it was still like, ‘is it really gonna drop? Are we doing this for real for real-real?’ I mean I cried. Like, I had to call my Grandma.”

Currently sitting at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Savage’ will almost certainly pounce its way into the top 10 this coming week. And, in doing so, will be the first of Megan’s career.
Just to brace y’all, it’s most likely the Beyonce remix will receive a name credit the following week. For, a collaborative remix has to collectively outpace the original to be credited on the charts.
As such, with the BeyMix dropping with just one day left of the current tracking week, it’ll be its first full week of chart activity that will land Mrs Carter on the tally. And it’s pretty much inevitable, as the ‘Savage’ remix has taken residence at #1 on iTunes and Apple Music, while also sitting at #2 on Spotify. In short, it’s coming!
