God this album sounds terrible. There was a point in time where Gaga was making pop music sound fresh and evolved. Now she’s just remaking old regurgitated trash. This song, along with rain on me, have been done, many, many times before. And much better, at that.

I love Rain on me so much. I like the lyricism and just the overall vibe of the track. Sour Candy and stupid love are not creative. They are very much pop throwaways. I hope her album doesn’t include a bunch of those. She only got with BlackPink for streaming purposes! Come on Gaga& thank God for Rain on Me!

This will be filler at the clubs and harness the Blackpink streaming power. GaGa knows this and appears to be hedging her bets accordingly. I think she most probably knows this album lyrically is not her strongest work…her fans should just enjoy it as the cotton candy it is.

Its not the genre people have a problem with, it’s the music itself. It sounds like she googled every chart topper in the 80s, remastered the instrumentals, wrote lyrics comprised of 6 or 7 words to cover a third of the song, and then called it an album. And even if this is what she’s going for, all that means is she’s making trash music on purpose. And making bad music and making the same old music weren’t her only 2 options. Her return to traditional pop could’ve been much more creative. No one wants to hear Gaga make elaborate covers for a bunch of tired wedding reception songs. Some of her fans are disappointed because we know what she’s capable of, and she didn’t deliver.
The amount of work she put into this whole doing her Vegas show and launching her makeup line should be appreciated. It’s easy to say someone didn’t work hard behind your phone screen. The playlist she made on Spotify for chromatically should be let y’all know that this is all dance fun music.
